Albert Ménès
Formerly used as a medicinal plant or even replacing pepper in the Romans when it was too expensive, it grows on small shrubs in the wild and is now used for making gin. These small berries have a beautiful brownish-purple color, a tangy taste and a sweet piney smell. Lightly crushed before use, the juniper berries liberally release their aromas.
